My office frequently hears from small businesses that are struggling to get by during the pandemic and worry about surviving the latest stay-at-home order. It’s been heartbreaking to see many local businesses close because of the lack of government support during these difficult times.In an effort to promote shopping local whenever possible, my team and I are delivering “I Shop Local” signs to you at no cost. I understand that many businesses are having difficulty navigating the Ontario Small Business Grant (OSBSG). It shouldn’t have to be this way. I am calling on the government to release the funds they promised to small businesses immediately, and to fix the program to ensure all of our small businesses have the support they need to stay afloat.
