The weather is getting warmer as we head into May, and debate at Queen’s Park has been warming up too!
Speaking Up for the St. James Town Act
Last month, the St. James Town Act passed its First Reading in Queen's Park.
The St. James Town Act would improve building safety regulations so that a disaster like the fire at 650 Parliament St. or the near evacuations of 260 and 280 Wellesley St. never happen again.
However, in order to make the St. James Town the law, it needs to pass 3 successful readings at Queen’s Park. Last weekend I was knocking on doors in St. James Town gathering signatures for the St. James Town Act. We need to show the Government how important it is that we improve housing laws to make sure everyone feels safe where they live. You can sign the petition on my website, or at my 329 Parliament St. Community Office.
Spring Open House
During Constituency Week this April, I hosted an Open House where we filled our Community Office with residents who had the chance to visit, enjoy a shared meal, and learn how my Community Office can help them!
Spring in Toronto Centre
It is finally Spring in Toronto Centre!
Over the last month I participated in the park clean-ups across Toronto Centre during Environment Day (photo below), as well as the Forsythia Festival in Cabbagetown (photo above) to celebrate the coming of Spring. Could anyone hope for better weather to go knock on doors?
