On Monday, April 6, 2020, I hosted a telephone town hall with hundreds of residents from across Toronto Centre. It was a great opportunity for community members to ask questions in a live and interactive format while we all stayed safe at home and practiced social distancing.
One of the questions during the town hall was about what people in our community could do to show support and appreciation for front line and essential workers right now.
We know that across Ontario, there are an army of workers keeping our communities running and keeping us safe during this unprecedented public health emergency.
From health care workers, to grocery store clerks, postal workers, couriers, TTC operators, emergency services, and more.
My team and I were so inspired by the idea of creating more spaces for folks in our community to thank and celebrate all of those workers.
If you want to send a message of hope or thanks to the essential workers in your neighbourhood, fill out the form on the page and we will share your messages online and on social media.
Let’s inspire gratitude and hope during this difficult time. We are in this together.
